Sapphire Demas and her twin brother have a secret. Since the awful day their parents were killed, they’ve been in hiding, fearful the same fate will befall them. Now she’s grown tired of living a half-life, tired of lying. She wants something just for herself. When she stumbles across an unconscious man while hiking through the woods and brings him home to heal, she knows she’s found it. Even if he’s a dangerous outsider.
Investigative journalist Adam Richton trusts only one thing—his nose for news. He’s never failed to get a story and doesn’t intend to start now. Until a beautiful and mysterious woman rescues him. In an instant, he forgets all about his career. Now all he wants is Sapphire, any way he can get her.
Then he witnesses something extraordinary that puts his reporter instincts back on full alert. Something that exposes Sapphire’s secrets, challenges him to believe the unbelievable…and to trust in something way out of his comfort zone: love.
Warning: This title contains hot, steamy, explicit sex. Oral sex. Sex in public places. And sex using scarves and other naughty things.

Turbulent Passions
Turbulent Passions is a whimsical erotic tale about a lonely woman who lives on a large isolated property with her twin brother because of fear of what would happen if the world discovers they possess extraordinary gifts. Sapphire is telekinetic and she also has an affinity with nature. In fact, she can communicate with animals be they wild or domesticated. Sapphire and her brother Aries are able to communicate telepathically and he is extremely protective. After an argument with Aries about their life or lack there of, Sapphire begins the walk to her small house on the other side of their property and literally trips over an unconscious man.
When Adam Richton awakens, he has a pounding headache and complete amnesia. What he does know is that he is very attracted to the beautiful brunette who takes him in and cares for him. When Adam’s memory comes rushing back, he proves to be strong and dominant, with his own secrets, mainly related to his work. You see, Adam is what Sapphire and her brother fear most, an investigative reporter who followed a lead about twin psychics to their doorstep. Adam came looking for the story of a lifetime.
Initially Aires is incensed that Sapphire has taken ‘the stranger’ into her home but she persuades her bother to back off and allow her some much needed privacy. I really liked Sapphire as a heroine, Ms. Rainey penned her character to be soft, feminine with an endearing innocence but also intelligent and strong, particularly when dealing with her brother’s overprotectiveness.
As noted in the Samhain Warning, this is a hot erotic story and there is a magnetic sensuality between Adam and Sapphire. He is written as a sexual dominant and she extremely responsive.
When Adam discovers Sapphire’s power and the full extent of her abilities he has to make the tough choice whether to continue nurturing their relationship, or betray her and Aries to write their story. However, when Sapphire finds out Adam’s secret, the tables are turned and she must decide if she can accept a man who has lied to her, despite knowing how important anonymity is to her and her brother. Adam loses Sapphire’s trust.
I felt Aries stood out as a secondary character and I wrote Ms. Rainey to ask if he will have his own story. She indicated that she did hope to write Aries’ story sometime in the future.
I’ve always liked Ms. Rainey’s voice and “Turbulent Passions” is no exception. If you enjoy reading a quick sexy fantasy that is rife with conflict, you may like to give “Turbulent Passions”, a try.
My Rating: 4/5 stars
Heat Level: See Samhain Warning. Just to clarify, I didn’t note any “sex in public places“, there is an “outdoor experience”, but no voyeuristic scenes written into the narrative of this novella.

Great review Lea! And I just love the "warnings" that come with these hot erotic reads! They are a like a beacon to me- calling me to buy them!

LOL – I could tell it was a Samhain book just from the warning.
Hi Lea

Oh, a new author for me to try out Lea *grin* I never grow tired of that
I really like the sound of the chemistry Adam and Sapphire and I love male sexual dominants. On the wishlist it is…
Lol, so the warning promised a bit more than it delivered this time

LOL Chris – yes they are pretty distinctive aren't they?
Thanks Mary;
I really love Anne's books – I'm hoping to review more in the coming weeks.
Thanks again!
Hi Leontine!!
This was a nice read for me, I enjoy a quick well written novella or short story to read between the novels. This one fit the bill.
Sexy with a good plot.
If you do read it I hope you enjoy!
LOL B: Well it was certainly a "Red Hot" but they didn't "do it" in front of an audience or anything. Anne Rainey writes really hot love scenes though!
Take Care
